Summer Travel Tips

Lately I have been so bored. WTF. Summer is here, basically, for me anyway. As soon it stops snowing I am happy as pigs in shit. My kids have 9 days of school left. That in itself has always marked the beginning of summer. Not to mention Memorial day. Oh yeah, and my birthday in June. That is definitely in the summer. (to me. but not for picky ass holes who like to point out the first official day of summer is not until after my birthday, and that technically I have a spring birthday. Not summer) Fuck you I say. The ice cream is melting on the plate aint it? It's summer!

My highlights of my summer plans: I am torn between going to Florida or California. I have never been to Cali, my friends parents live there so we have a place to stay. If I go to Fl .it's a Hotel. DISCLAIMER:::: I am taking my kids with me and if I travel w/ my friend she will have hers as well. 3 alltogether. so, it's not a spring break kinda vaca. This being the first official vacation I am taking my kids on and I am just not sure if we should go alone or with others. Anyone have any personal experiences or thoughts on this for me???? I would greatly appreciate it.

I haven't been to Cali in 10 years, but I remember it being extremely expensive for touristy parts of L.A. and Hollywood. If you're bringing kids with you, they're probably not going to be all that interested in old props from 'I Love Lucy'. Florida is probably your best bet because it's got more kid friendly stuff, and a lot for the grown ups too.

Florida for the kids....

I don't know how you are on money but there are a few things you can do to make Disney inexpensive.  My father used to take 6 kids to Disney every year when I was a child and seriously we were not the Rockefellers. (sp)

How many kids do you have?  What ages are they, and does your family enjoy camping?

I think teamwork is a good thing, so I vote for "with others."

Also, HELLO, Space Mountain?  Splash Mountain?  The Haunted Mansion?  Pirates of the Caribbean?  Disneyland, all the way.

Also, Universal Studios: Shrek 4D?

California - knows how to partay.  Even for kids.  Shake it, Cali.

I have two beautiful girls. 11 and 7. I have grew up camping ever summer of my life when my grandparents were alive. We used a camper. I myself do not have a camper, or a tent for that matter. I planned on flying, but not making it a "Disney" vacation. I know that if I throw disney in the mix I am outa budget. I have not seen the ocean. Ever. I know my youngest has not as well. That is the basis of this trip really. Sand, water and nothing but relaxation. Maybe see whats around town, and go out to dinner at like medevil times or something neat like that.

In that case...either CA or FLA would work!  I'd go with whichever has the cheaper airfare.
